I love my college and I love working for Admissions and I freaking love seeing how excited these perspective students and soon-to-be class of ‘18 are about my school.
I’ve honestly never been happier in my life. I am so happy that I chose this school and I am so goddamn proud of myself for not killing myself freshman year because I have been able to accomplish so many incredible things like studying abroad and skydiving in Switzerland, interning in Manhattan, and now being one of the faces of my college. It’s been a long and grueling journey to get here, but it’s bringing me to tears that I am able to look in the mirror and be proud of myself and happy where I am.
To anyone out there who is still struggling, let me be that lingering hope for you. It does get better. Don’t hurt yourself, your skin is the only home you can never leave, so you might as well love it. Cherish it. Be proud of it. Don’t cut into your insecurities, defeat them with hard work and ambition.
I never thought I would be here and I am. Believe in yourself.
